The 60th British Society for Medical Mycology Annual Conference is for clinicians, laboratory specialists and researchers working across medical and veterinary mycology. Its three-day programme combines invited scientific sessions with flash talks, offered talks, two poster sessions and a foundation lecture, so it supports both learning and presentation of new work.
The programme opens with anatomical reservoirs of fungal infection, followed by sessions on resistant Candida infections, patient and public involvement and teaching, fungal interactions, and research and development of new antifungal therapeutics. Named contributors come from NHS Scotland, UKHSA, RadboudUMC, KU Leuven and universities including Aberdeen, Exeter, Glasgow, Manchester, Strathclyde and Clemson. The schedule also includes the BSMM AGM, concluding prizes and organised evening meals.
You submit an abstract directly on the conference page before moving on to registration. The maximum is 300 words; put the title, all authors and affiliations at the top, and do not include figures or tables. You can select oral, poster or no preference. Although the narrative requests a Word file, the upload control explicitly accepts TXT, DOC, DOCX, ODT and PDF. The form is open when checked, but BSMM does not publish a closing date, topic-category list, required section headings or publication outcome.
Full ticket prices are £350 for trainee BSMM members, £450 for BSMM members and £600 for non-members. Two-day rates are £160 with meals or £80 without meals. The organiser says full registration covers every conference session and the AGM, breakfast, lunch and dinner, two nights at the Radisson Blu conference hotel, and the BSMM Sing-Song. No online option or CPD accreditation is stated.
