FIS International 2026 runs from 24 to 26 November at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow. Hosted by the Healthcare Infection Society with the British Infection Association, it is a multidisciplinary infection meeting for infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, infection prevention and control, biomedical science, public health, nursing, pharmacy, research and trainee audiences. The microsite describes a three-day programme of plenary lectures, debates, workshops, free papers, clinical cases, oral presentations, posters, trade exhibition and social events. Named lecturers currently include Professor Brett Mitchell for the Lowbury Lecture and Professor Shiranee Sriskandan for the JD Williams Lecture.
Abstracts close at 17:00 BST on 29 June 2026. Submitters choose poster or oral presentation and provide a title, authors/affiliations and abstract content. The title limit is 75 words and the abstract limit is 400 words. Topics include antimicrobial resistance and stewardship, healthcare-associated infection, diagnostics, outbreaks, clinical cases, AI, innovation, audit and quality improvement, clinical trials, One Health, sustainability and viral infections. Submissions cannot be amended, must not have been presented at another conference, and accepted presenters must register at the applicable full delegate fee. Poster presenters need an A0 portrait poster and an electronic PDF for the conference app. Authors are notified week commencing 10 August 2026.
Standard full-conference fees are GBP 858 for non-members, GBP 724 for participating-society members and GBP 536 for eligible healthcare professionals in training, nurses, pharmacists and non-consultant-grade scientists. Early-bird rates end on 27 September. Registration includes sessions, exhibition access, Lowbury Reception, refreshments and post-event recordings. Accommodation booking through Glasgow Convention Bureau remains open until 6 November.
