About MedicMess
MedicMess is an independent directory built to make professional opportunities easier to find and compare for UK resident doctors. It brings conferences, medical journals, societies, grants, fellowships and research opportunities into one searchable place.
Why it exists
Important dates and trainee details are often scattered across organiser websites, PDFs and registration systems. That makes it easy to miss an abstract window, overlook a lower trainee fee or spend time comparing events that are not relevant. MedicMess was created by Dr Robert Baxter, a UK resident doctor, to reduce that friction and give doctors a practical starting point for planning their next professional step.
How the directory is maintained
Listings combine structured facts with editorial guidance. Dates, costs, deadlines and source links are checked against official organiser information, and published records identify a named medical reviewer. MedicMess links back to primary sources so readers can confirm current registration terms, eligibility and submission requirements before acting. Corrections are welcomed and reviewed against the source rather than accepted automatically.
Independence and limits
MedicMess is not affiliated with NHS England or the General Medical Council. It is an information service, not medical advice, and it does not replace the final terms published by a conference organiser, journal, society or funder. When a commercial placement appears, it should be distinguishable from the editorial directory. The core directory remains free to use.
