RCPCH Conference 2027

RCPCH Conference 2027 is the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health annual meeting, taking place from 19 to 21 May at LEX Liverpool with an online attendance option. The three-day event is approved for CPD and will include keynote speakers, presentations, ePosters and workshops across a wide range of paediatric specialties under the 2027 theme “Science meets practice”. Abstract submissions are open until 23:59 BST on 6 September 2026. Authors submit through Oxford Abstracts, select a specialty category, and may request ePoster plus oral presentation or ePoster only; category organisers decide the final format where possible. Top-scoring abstracts can be invited to present in a plenary talk, and the Dr Michael Blacow Memorial Prize awards £200 for the best plenary abstract paper by a paediatrician below consultant status. Abstracts are limited to 470 words plus 130 words for references, use four required headings, and undergo blind review. Case reports, case series, literature reviews, previously journal-published work, work already presented at RCPCH, and work presented at national or international conferences are not accepted. Local or regional paediatric presentation is allowed. Accepted abstracts are published in an online Archives of Disease in Childhood supplement and the linked BMJ licence requires an exclusive publication licence while copyright remains with authors. The QI and Patient Safety PDF gives extra expectations: projects should show change tested over time, ideally at least two improvement cycles, appropriate methods such as PDSA cycles, driver diagrams or run charts, measurement over time, multidisciplinary/CYPF+ involvement, sustained learning and reflection on human factors. Outcomes are due on 27 November; presenting authors must confirm by 11 December and register by 29 January 2027. Attendance fees, general registration dates, named speakers and the detailed timetable remain unpublished.
