Med+ 2026

Med+ 2026 is the Royal College of Physicians' largest specialty conference, held at Regent's Park, London and online on 23-24 November 2026. Across two days it covers clinical updates and best practice in acute, general and specialty medicine, expert panels, interactive workshops, research and innovation, and networking across more than 15 specialties. It is open to healthcare professionals and medical or related students at all career stages. Both in-person and online tickets include the conference platform and on-demand recordings until February 2027. The event will be CPD-accredited, although the points total has not yet been published.

The resident-doctor abstract competition closes at 23:59 BST on Sunday 30 August 2026. The main author/submitter must be a resident doctor; co-authors must be healthcare professionals, work in healthcare, or study medicine or a related field. The abstract must be in English, submitted through the portal (not as a Word file), and the body is limited to 500 words excluding the title, up to two figures/tables/charts/graphs, and up to 10 Vancouver-style references. Where logical, use Introduction; Materials and methods; Results and discussion; Conclusion. Submissions are judged anonymously, so author or supervisor names in the abstract body cause immediate rejection. Previously presented work is allowed if it has not been published as an abstract or full paper. Appropriate ethics approval and written informed consent must be obtained and stated where relevant; animal research is not accepted.

Categories are health services/sustainability/policy/workforce; case reports; clinical/digital/translational/innovation research; education/training/professionalism; and QI/patient safety/audit. There is no limit on the number of abstracts submitted. Decisions are expected in late September. Shortlisted entrants must upload a one-page 16:9 landscape PowerPoint e-poster by 23:59 GMT on 18 October 2026 and buy the matching conference ticket by the same deadline. In-person entrants give a 3-minute poster presentation followed by 2 minutes of questions; the RCP explicitly says this is not an oral presentation for specialty-training applications. Online entrants are judged without presenting. In-person best overall wins £500 and a Medicine 2027 in-person ticket; online best poster wins £250 and an online Medicine 2027 ticket. Winning and runner-up abstracts are referred to the RCP journals team for review and possible publication.
