A half-day exam of five clinical stations with two independent examiners at each, eight patient encounters and seven core skills assessed, run in a hospital or clinical skills centre.

  • How many attempts do I get?

Candidates have a maximum of six attempts at any part of the MRCP(UK) examination.

  • Where is it sat?

The exam runs at clinical centres across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland that vary from diet to diet, plus international centres.

  • What comes after MRCP(UK) PACES?

If places are oversubscribed, UK trainees are prioritised, and those expecting to apply for ST3 posts within the next year come first.
