Joint Winter Meeting of the Scottish Society of Anaesthetists and the Association of Anaesthetists 2026

The Joint Winter Meeting takes place in person at The Studio Glasgow on 8 and 9 December 2026. It is aimed at consultant anaesthetists, resident doctors at ST3 and above, and SAS anaesthetists. The programme covers nerve injury, post-natal neurology, congenital heart disease outside a cardiac centre, oncology, acute kidney injury, aviation and expedition medicine, patient-safety reporting, medicolegal claims, delirium and airway decision-making. Professor Simon Edgar delivers the Gillies lecture, and day one closes with a drinks reception. Residents and medical students will present in the Dougall Quaich Oral Presentation Competition on improving peri-operative care for patients in Scotland.
