BORS 2026 is aimed at clinicians, scientists, engineers and industry partners working across orthopaedic and musculoskeletal research. The meeting is hosted at the Technology & Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, with a pan-Glasgow organising committee representing Strathclyde, Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian, NHS Golden Jubilee and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The stated theme is translational orthopaedic research, spanning fundamental discovery, bioengineering and clinical application.

Abstract notifications have already been sent, so the original submission deadline is no longer public on the page. Presenting authors must register by 14 August 2026 to keep their place in the scientific programme.

The programme is expected to include institution-led oral presentation sessions, poster sessions, keynote lectures, sponsor presentations and networking, with the full draft programme still to be published.

Award routes include the New Investigator Award, Andrew Sprowson Award for Translational Research and Best Poster Presentation Award; accepted poster abstracts are automatically considered for the poster award, while the other awards have eligibility/application conditions.

Registration is open until 30 August 2026, with early-bird rates ending 1 August and standard non-member registration listed at GBP 375. The Royal College of Surgeons of England has awarded up to 11 CPD points. Delegates are advised to book Glasgow accommodation early because a separate large conference is taking place in the city at the same time.
