The Complete Guide to the AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting 2026

AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting 2026 runs from 23 to 25 September at Harrogate Convention Centre and is aimed at consultants, resident doctors and allied professionals working across upper gastrointestinal surgery in the UK and Ireland. The public event page describes a programme built around scientific and clinical updates, multidisciplinary learning, research, innovation, best practice and national networking. The detailed programme is still marked as coming soon, so named sessions and speakers should be checked again closer to the meeting.

The call for abstracts is open. Abstract submission opened on Thursday 7 May 2026 and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday 22 June 2026, with acceptance notifications due in the week beginning 3 August. The page states that all submitted abstracts go through anonymous peer review by at least three independent reviewers, with the highest-scoring abstracts selected for oral or poster presentation. Categories include AHP, oesophago-gastric, cancer, benign upper GI surgery, HPB disease, bariatric surgery and emergency upper GI surgery. Abstracts must usually be no more than 250 words and follow an Aim, Method, Results and Conclusions structure except for case reports. Accepted and presented abstracts will be published online in the British Journal of Surgery, and the abstract content cannot be changed before publication after submission closes.

Registration is open. Publicly visible early-bird member rates are available until 30 June 2026: consultant and retired consultant GBP 495, resident doctor ST3+/SAS GBP 195, resident doctor Y1-CT3 GBP 60, AHP GBP 60 and medical student GBP 35. The booking page confirms the event dates and Harrogate Convention Centre venue, but further booking requires continuing through the AUGIS booking flow and members are advised to log in before booking. No CPD accreditation, CPD points, non-member standard fee or online attendance option was stated on the pages inspected.
