Complete guideFull MedicMess editorial briefing

VASGBI joins the Vascular Society for a two-day national vascular anaesthesia and surgical conference at Liverpool Experience Campus on 26-27 November 2026. The meeting is explicitly multidisciplinary, with VASGBI, the Vascular Society, BACPAR, SVN and CSVS participation, and the page describes more than 1,200 delegates with up to five parallel lecture streams. For junior doctors, the strongest value is the combination of the usual VASGBI two-day lecture programme, access to wider vascular society sessions, regional anaesthesia workshops and a formal abstract route. Abstract submission is open to VASGBI authors for research, audit and case reports, with peer review by at least three reviewers. Higher scoring work is selected for oral or poster presentation, prizes are attached to the best verbal and poster presentations, and shortlisted abstracts are published in JVSGBI subject to the stated conditions. The abstract closing date is Monday 14 September 2026. Registration is open for the face-to-face event, with early-bird rates until Friday 28 August 2026. The standard non-member two-day consultant/SAS rate is GBP 495 and the standard non-member resident doctor two-day rate is GBP 365; member and day-rate options are also visible on the official page. CPD recognition is described as application pending rather than awarded, so no confirmed point total is available yet. Travel guidance covers rail, bus, road, parking, air access and nearby accommodation, and an awards dinner is offered on the Thursday evening.
