The Podium Institute Annual Conference on Sports Medicine & Technology 2026

The Podium Institute’s annual meeting sits at the intersection of sports medicine, clinical science and health technology. It is designed for clinicians, researchers and innovators working on athlete health and safety across youth, community and professional sport. The four confirmed strands are brain health, cardiovascular health, musculoskeletal health, and mental health, sleep and cognition. Across those themes, the organisers highlight wearables, digital health and remote monitoring, computer vision, imaging and neuroimaging, protective equipment, biomarkers and biomechanics.

The named faculty combines sports physicians and clinical researchers with specialists in concussion, cardiovascular screening, biomechanics and rehabilitation technology. Confirmed speakers include Ann McKee, Sanjay Sharma, Conor Walsh, William R Taylor, Anthony Kontos and Thomas Okell. The two-day in-person event is held in Oxford’s Life and Mind Building, with an optional gala dinner at New College on Thursday evening.

Abstract submissions closed on 30 June. Accepted work may be selected for an oral presentation, contributed talk or poster, and presenters must attend in Oxford and pay the delegate fee for inclusion in the final programme. Decisions were due by the end of July. The standard two-day fee is £150 and the student fee is £90; lunch and refreshments are included, while dinner and accommodation are extra. The organiser says the detailed programme will be published on 19 August 2026, so session times are not yet recorded.
