Complete guideFull MedicMess editorial briefing

The UKSCA Annual Conference is for strength and conditioning practitioners working across sport, fitness, health, medicine and education. The 2026 theme asks which professional standards should be retained and which need to evolve, with sessions covering performance, rehabilitation, coaching, health, ageing, para sport, youth development and applied sports science.

Friday 11 September is built around specialist seminars and workshops, including a football conference and Bill Knowles' reconditioning session. The main conference runs on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September with talks, debates and practical work at the East Midlands Conference Centre and the nearby High Performance Zone. The published line-up includes practitioners and researchers from elite sport, universities, football, ballet, military performance and preventative health.

The research route includes academic and case-study posters, 15-minute oral spotlights, 45-minute podium talks and 45-minute practical workshops. Submissions closed on 14 August 2026. Accepted poster or oral lead authors receive £75 off the Saturday pass; accepted podium and practical-session leads receive a free one-day pass, and accepted presenters must book by 28 August.

Public non-member prices are £215 for Saturday and £135 for Sunday; members pay £155 and £75 respectively. A £475 non-member package covers the Saturday-Sunday conference, awards dinner and accommodation, so it is not a conference-only comparison. The two-day main event carries 30 CPD credits, lunch and refreshments are included, and the venue postcode is NG7 2RJ.
