The GP Registrar and First5 Conference takes place at The Grand Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne on 26 September 2026 and is open to GP registrars and early-career GPs from the North East and beyond. The full-day programme is designed around the transition from training into independent practice. Published topics include portfolio careers and employability, tailored support for international medical graduates, CV writing and interview preparation, visas and job applications, AI and digital tools in general practice, early-career leadership, salaried work, partnership and locum careers, appraisal and becoming a trainer. The organisers also set aside time for networking with registrars, newly qualified GPs and local leaders. RCGP members may attend free, with a refundable attendance deposit required when booking; a non-member price is not stated on the public page. A limited number of medical-student places are available, subject to confirmation by the faculty. The page says sponsorship is being sought to keep attendance free. No abstract submission route, publication outcome, CPD allocation or detailed timed agenda was published when checked. Registration is handled through the RCGP Engage page and requires an account login.
