EBMA 2026 is for educators and assessment leads working across medicine and the health professions. The theme, “Redefining Assessment for a New Era”, considers competence, authentic performance, expert judgement, feedback, programmatic assessment, entrustment, simulation and AI-enabled tools.
Abstracts are accepted as short presentations, posters or workshops. Short and poster abstracts use Background, Summary of work, Summary of results, Discussion and Conclusion, Take-Home Message and References; workshop abstracts use Background, Learning objectives, Workshop Structure and Take-Home Message. The limit is 350 words, with up to three references and five keywords. The page prominently states that the deadline was extended to 16 September, although stale sections still show 16 August; that conflict is retained in the evidence.
The in-person conference runs on 1–3 December at Lancaster University. Early-bird rates end at 17:00 UK time on 10 October and registration closes on 12 November; Eventbrite displays £175–£350, with student, member, group and eligible low-income-country reductions described.
