International rare-cancer community where cross-centre collaboration is central.
The programme explicitly includes abstract presentations alongside scientific and educational sessions.
Includes sessions for young oncologists and is relevant to oncology or academic trainees working in rare cancers.
The ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers Congress 2027 takes place in Lugano from 4–6 March. It brings together clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, industry partners and patient advocates working on rare solid tumours. The published programme outline covers tumour biology, diagnostics, molecular classification and emerging treatment approaches, with abstract presentations, education, multidisciplinary tumour boards, expert discussion, guideline updates and sessions for young oncologists. This makes it relevant to oncology and academic trainees seeking a specialist research meeting rather than a narrow course. The page also highlights collaboration across the international rare-cancer community, where network building is especially important because individual tumour groups are uncommon. The event currently has accommodation, congress-officer and venue pages, but the abstract call, registration fees, CPD points and full timetable are not yet available in the inspected rendered content. Those fields should be revisited when ESMO publishes the next stage of the congress site.
