An ESICM meeting intended to bring critical-care professionals together around the future of intensive care.
ESICM says abstract submission for Intensive Care Innovation 2027 opens in September 2026, but no exact abstract deadline, categories, submission formats or guidelines are public yet.
Relevant to ICU trainees working in digital health, innovation, service improvement, precision care or sustainability.
Intensive Care Innovation 2027 takes place on 4-5 February 2027 at the Humanitas Congress Center, via Alessandro Manzoni 113 in Rozzano, Milan. The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine describes it as a meeting for critical-care professionals focused on how intensive care may develop through new technology, clinical methods and service design. The published themes include artificial intelligence, precision medicine and sustainable ICU practice, alongside emerging technologies and strategies for day-to-day critical care.
The currently published format comprises expert talks, interactive sessions and panel discussions. ESICM highlights practical discussion of patient interactions, alarm fatigue and the environmental impact of intensive care. Expanded page sections now list a 24-person faculty as of 27 July 2026, including Julia Wendon, Massimiliano Greco, Jan De Waele, Marlies Ostermann, Maurizio Cecconi and Derek Angus on the conference committee. Individual talk titles and a day-by-day timetable are still not published.
As checked on 3 August 2026, ESICM says abstract submission and registration are both due to open in September 2026. It still has not published the abstract deadline, submission categories or formats, fee table, ticket tiers, general registration deadline or confirmed CME points. Those fields remain blank rather than borrowing information from the 2026 edition. ESICM says it will apply to UEMS EACCME for CME accreditation and names KIT Group GmbH as the official registration provider.
