Before you book

  • How do I get a place on FFICM Final OSCE/SOE?

Apply through the online booking system by the closing date (late and paper applications are not accepted) and pay by secure pay link.

  • What is the format?

The OSCE has 13 seven-minute stations (12 scored, one unmarked test station) each marked out of 20; the SOE has four fourteen-minute stations with two questions each, each marked by two examiners.

  • How is it marked?

OSCE pass mark is the sum of Angoff scores for the 12 live stations; SOE pass mark is set by borderline regression and will be in the range of 80% to 85%.

  • How many attempts do I get?

At the first sitting the OSCE and SOE must be taken together; if one is failed only that component is retaken, and if both are failed they are retaken together.

  • When are results?

Candidates are emailed their results directly, with a detailed results letter within 21 working days of release day; guidance interviews can be requested after a second unsuccessful attempt.
