Complete guideFull MedicMess editorial briefing

ERC Resuscitation 2026 is a three-day European congress for clinicians and educators working in resuscitation, emergency care, intensive care, anaesthesia, paediatrics, neonatology and pre-hospital systems. The Milan programme runs from 17 to 19 September 2026 at Allianz MiCo Milano Convention Centre and includes keynotes, interactive sessions, workshops, an innovation showcase, oral abstract sessions and poster sessions.

The abstract call is now closed. Current guidance says abstracts had to be submitted online in English by the extended 15 April 2026 deadline, with decisions communicated on 15 May 2026. Accepted work can be allocated to Young Investigator Award, Best of the Best, oral abstract or poster tour formats, and abstracts are published in the congress Book of Abstracts in Resuscitation journal only if the presenter registers and attends.

Registration remains open. The regular fee period runs from 1 June to 16 September 2026, with on-site registration from 17 to 19 September. Published regular rates include EUR 733 for ERC member physicians, EUR 496 for the member standard category covering nurses, paramedics, trainees and others, and EUR 237 for students; non-member and low/lower-middle income country rates are listed separately.

The programme has practical appeal for UK trainees interested in resuscitation systems, ALS, paediatric and neonatal life support, post-resuscitation care, education and implementation. The public agenda includes UK-linked speakers and sessions on mentorship, AI in resuscitation, bystander support, oral abstracts, poster presentation and simulation-based competition activity.
