British Scoliosis Society 48th Annual Meeting 2026

This meeting is aimed at consultants, fellows, resident doctors, researchers, physiotherapists, orthotists, nurses and other professionals working in scoliosis and complex spinal deformity. The main conference runs on 19-20 November at the East Midlands Conference Centre, with six paper sessions, poster viewing, debates, case discussion, keynotes and joint sessions with BSIN and NPSAN. A separate education and allied-health programme runs on Wednesday 18 November.

The research route covers scoliosis and spinal-deformity research, innovation and clinical work. Completed abstracts were considered for either a five-minute oral podium presentation or a poster; both formats require in-person presentation. The extended deadline was 23:59 UK time on 18 August 2026 and has now passed. The public pages do not disclose the word limit, required structure, figure/table rules or detailed presenter obligations; those specifications sit behind an Oxford Abstracts account.

The standard non-member full-conference fee is £430.50 excluding VAT, with a subsidised standard rate of £134.40 for medical students, FY1-2, CT1-2, ST3-8, full-time researchers up to lecturer level, allied health professionals and nurses. Early-bird non-member registration is £376.95 excluding VAT until 8 October. BSS awards CPD points, with the allocation confirmed on the emailed attendance certificate after feedback.

The venue is on the University of Nottingham campus, with direct tram access to Nottingham railway station and park-and-ride access near M1 junction 25. The Orchard Hotel is the on-site conference hotel; parking and electric-vehicle charging are available. There is no live virtual attendance, although registered in-person delegates are expected to receive session recordings through the conference app about a week after the meeting.
