The Complete Guide to the BMUS Ultrasound 2026

BMUS Ultrasound 2026 is the British Medical Ultrasound Society’s 57th Annual Scientific Meeting, running in Cheltenham from 8-10 December 2026. The public event page is currently focused on the call for papers rather than delegate registration, but it gives strong research and portfolio detail. The abstract portal invites work for oral, poster or case study presentation, with the main deadline on 31 July 2026 and author notification planned for the week commencing 7 September. A separate Early Careers stream, aimed at trainees and recent graduates, has a later 31 August deadline and is aligned to the theme Evidence in Action: Transforming Practice, Improving Experience. Suggested early-careers topics include patient experience and safety, evidence-based ultrasound practice, quality improvement, audit, service evaluation, case studies, education, innovation, professional practice and workforce issues. Accepted abstract authors pay a £155 presentation fee for each accepted abstract, which includes one day of conference attendance for the presenting author. Poster presenters must provide an A0 portrait poster and all accepted posters are included in the conference app; poster prizes are advertised for scientific, case report and clinical posters. General delegate registration fees are not yet published, although early-bird registration opens 1 July 2026 and closes 30 September 2026.
