The Complete Guide to the Scottish Thoracic Society National Trainee Symposium 2026

The Scottish Thoracic Society National Trainee Symposium 2026 is an in-person respiratory medicine meeting at Stirling Court Hotel. It is specifically aimed at trainees and students with an interest in respiratory medicine, including respiratory and thoracic surgery specialty trainees, IMT/CST/CMT doctors, foundation doctors and medical students. The call for abstracts is open for audit and quality improvement, research, and education and training submissions; the deadline is 09:00 on Monday 17 August 2026. Successful abstracts will be invited for in-person oral presentations or lightning talks, with authors notified in September. The programme includes immunotherapy in oncology, immunology, biologics in COPD, interactive work, lightning talks, research talks and a closing prize announcement. Registration fees are visible: consultant grade £50, trainee doctors £0, AHPs £0 and medical students £0. CPD certificates are available after the feedback survey, which closes on 30 November 2026.
