The RCSEd Dental Triennial Conference returns to Edinburgh with a tightly focused look at how digital tools are moving from technical novelty into day-to-day dental care. Across two days, the faculty covers AI-assisted diagnosis and decision-making, digital restorative and implant workflows, CAD/CAM materials, 3D printing, digitally guided surgery and immersive training. That breadth should make the meeting useful to specialist trainees and early-career dentists as well as established general dental practitioners, consultants and specialists.
The research route is unusually well specified. Submissions were accepted as original research, clinical case reports, audits and quality-improvement work across six digital-dentistry themes. Abstracts had to be structured and no longer than 500 words excluding the title, with every author and affiliation listed beneath the title and the presenting author highlighted in bold. A signed Word-document declaration of originality and author contribution, plus the corresponding author's email, was required by midday on 31 July 2026. The call is now closed. High-scoring work may be selected for either a physical A0 portrait poster or a 10-minute oral presentation followed by five minutes of questions; the winning oral presentation carries a £250 prize.
The published programme names an international and multidisciplinary speaker group spanning prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental education, AI and materials science. Registration can be bought for one or two days, with lower member and trainee rates. An optional formal dinner takes place on Thursday evening in the Fellows' Library and Playfair Hall.
