ManCAD CAPers 2026: Audiology in a Diverse World

This is aimed at researchers, audiologists, early-career scientists and students who want current clinical audiology research with a practical focus on inclusive, person-centred care. Across two days, the programme examines how age, culture, language and lived experience shape hearing needs, and what that means for personalised auditory rehabilitation. The format combines submitted and invited presentations, a panel with members of local minority communities and an evening poster session.

The abstract call is now closed. Submissions were limited to 500 words and could be proposed as a poster or podium presentation, with a “don't mind” option. The deadline was 1 July 2026, decisions were promised by 14 July, and the form requested lead-author details, institution, title and co-authors. Authors could also opt in to consideration for an invited article based on their conference presentation in a Sonova-sponsored special issue of the International Journal of Audiology; this was consideration, not guaranteed publication.

Standard registration is £170 after the early-bird period, with full-time students paying £80. Before the 17 July cutoff the corresponding fees were £120 and £60. Registration covers room hire, tea and coffee breaks, and dinner on Thursday; lunch is not included. Invited speakers, sponsors and ManCAD members have a stated £0 tier, as do scholarship recipients.

The Contact Theatre is on the University of Manchester campus and is reachable from the city centre and rail stations on foot, by bicycle or by bus. Talks will use Auracast. A limited number of receivers with headphones and neck loops will be available, but delegates are encouraged to bring compatible earbuds, headphones or hearing devices.
