BEAVRS Annual Meeting 2026

This two-day meeting is aimed at vitreoretinal specialists, trainees, researchers and industry partners. The programme combines free-paper sessions on retinal detachment, macula, tumours and uveitis with an international guest lecture on retinal fibrosis, complication discussions, a pathology deep dive, a practical “VR Toolbox” session and a three-minute video competition. Virtual registration includes live online sessions and access to recorded lectures.

The 2026 abstract call is closed. Free-paper submissions could include case reports, case series, audits, outcome data or research papers related to vitreoretinal surgery. Abstracts had to be submitted in English under the presenting author’s name, with a 250-character title and separate limits of 50 words for Purpose, 20 for Setting/Venue, 100 for Methods, 100 for Results and 50 for Conclusions. Final results or conclusions were required; references and credits were not allowed.

Accepted free papers receive a five-minute presentation slot, and the organiser says all accepted abstracts will also be shown as e-posters and posted online exactly as submitted. The first author must present, register as a delegate and pay the applicable fee. Presenters who are not BEAVRS members need the supporting member in the room for questions, and financial interests must be declared in the abstract and on the first presentation slide.

Current in-person late fees are £350 for consultant members and £285 for trainee members; registration bundled with new membership costs £430 and £325 respectively. Virtual registration is £150. The Oxford gala dinner at the Examination Schools costs an additional £25 and must be booked during registration; the programme also includes an industry exhibition, a sparkling reception and the BEAVRS AGM.
