TRAINEE Trainee Opportunities
Trainee representatives on BMFMS committee
Two trainee representatives on the BMFMS committee represent trainees' views and promote ways in which the society can support their needs. They play an active role in committee meetings and organisation of the conference, including a session designed specifically for trainees.
RCOG careers fair involvement
Trainee representatives are involved on an annual basis in the RCOG careers fair which provides junior doctors and medical students with the opportunity to explore career opportunities in obstetrics and gynaecology
Travel grants
BMFMS provides funding for travel grants to support trainee participation
Research funding
BMFMS provides funding for research to support trainee development
Medical Student Prizes
Awards of up to £200 towards accommodation and travel, plus free conference registration for highest ranking abstracts submitted to the annual conference in four categories: Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine, Labour & Delivery, and Pregnancy Outcome
WoW-BMFMS Entry Level Scholarships
Scholarships providing up to £20,000 for up to 12 months for pre-doctoral researchers in basic science, clinical or translational research projects aimed to improve maternal and fetal health. Applicants do not have to be members initially but are expected to join on receipt of award.
