Publishing in Human Reproduction Update

Human Reproduction Update publishes comprehensive narrative, scoping and systematic reviews across human reproductive physiology and medicine. It covers basic, translational and clinical work, including endocrinology, andrology, embryology, infertility, pregnancy, genetics, immunology and reproductive oncology. Oxford University Press publishes it for the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

Authors must send a proposal to the editorial office before submitting a manuscript. The journal does not take opinion pieces, mini-reviews or reviews built around hypothesis-driven frameworks. Authors can publish under the standard licence without an article charge. Optional open access costs €4,339 before applicable sales tax, with some institutional agreements able to cover the fee. Suitable manuscripts undergo external peer review, and the journal usually returns reviewer reports and the Editor-in-Chief's decision within eight weeks.

Optional open access costs €4,339 for Reviews, Grand Theme Reviews and Letters to the Editor, excluding applicable sales tax.   • Email a review proposal to the editorial office and wait for approval before submitting the manuscript.
