Before you book

  • How do I get a place on FRCPath Part 2?

Apply and pay online on the RCPath website during the application window; Trust-paid applications are made by form instead.

  • What is the format?

Part 2 examinations are delivered in person, with the format varying by specialty (for example two days of Histopathology Part 2 in April 2027).

  • How many attempts do I get?

Each part can be attempted four times, and further attempts need an application to the College Council’s Mitigating Circumstances Panel.

  • When are results?

Part 2 results are published on the RCPath website by candidate number from midday on the results date (Friday 21 May 2027 for spring 2027).

  • What comes after FRCPath Part 2?

Passing Part 2 makes you a Fellow of the College and you may use FRCPath after the date of the Council meeting that ratifies the results.
