RCPath Northern Ireland Symposium 2026, themed “From Diagnosis to Recovery: Pathology Improving Every Step of the Patient Journey”, takes place on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at the Postgraduate Medical Centre, Belfast City Hospital. RCPath describes it as a free in-person symposium for fellows, members, trainees, medical students and others interested in pathology specialties in Northern Ireland. The meeting runs in the morning from 09:30 to 13:00, followed by lunch from 13:00 to 14:00, and covers upcoming pathology themes, developments in Northern Ireland, the College's work locally and a presentation from RCPath President Dr Bernie Croal. Registrations were not yet open when inspected. The linked poster competition invites professionals from pathology fields to submit abstracts for poster presentations. Submissions can cover research, projects, best practice, service improvement, audits, interesting cases or ideas, either related to the symposium theme or wider pathology work. Abstracts should be up to 250 words and include title, author details, objectives, methods, results or expected outcomes, conclusions and impact on the patient journey, plus a short author biography. The competition is open to Northern Ireland entrants only, with £100 first prize and £50 second/third prizes. RCPath lists 3 CPD credits.
