The Complete Guide to the Tumour Microenvironment meeting and 3D Cancer Modelling workshop
This BACR meeting runs from 8 to 10 July 2026 at the University of Nottingham. Day 1 is a 3D Cancer Modelling Workshop focused on modelling the tumour microenvironment in vitro and ex vivo, with talks on patient-derived explants, tumour avatars, tumour-on-chip models and organoids. Days 2 and 3 form the Tumour Microenvironment Conference, covering spatial mapping, host-tumour interactions, bioengineering, hormonal regulation, metastatic mechanisms and clinical translation. The programme lists invited speakers and keynote talks, including Daniela Thommen, Peter Friedl and Douglas Hanahan, plus multiple talks selected from abstracts, poster viewing, a panel discussion, welcome drinks and a conference dinner. Abstract submission is by Word document emailed to BACR, with a 300-word limit and a closing date of 1 May 2026. Abstracts are for poster presentation, with some selected for oral presentation within the sessions; presenters can indicate whether they prefer the 3D Cancer Modelling workshop, the Tumour Microenvironment element, or either. Registration rates are visible on the BACR site. The non-member three-day standard rate is £449, the BACR member three-day rate is £380, and the student non-member three-day rate is £300; BACR student member three-day registration is £270. The early-bird deadline is listed as 1 June 2026 but separate early-bird prices were not visible. Registration requires BACR login or guest account creation. Accommodation is not included, but Rutland Hall rooms are offered separately at £72 per night.
