The Complete Guide to the HSR UK 19th Annual Conference 2026

HSR UK 2026 is a two-day multidisciplinary meeting for people working in health and social care services, systems and policy research. The programme includes plenary sessions, themed research discussion sessions, rapid-fire research sessions, poster walkrounds, interactive workshops, learning and development sessions, exhibition time and networking. The audience is broader than one specialty: the organisers describe delegates from universities and research institutes, research funders, government, policy think tanks, NHS and social care bodies, journals, industry, consultancy and the third sector.

Research presentation submissions were invited across health and social care services, systems and policy research, including work improving patient, carer and service-user wellbeing, building research capacity, and advancing methodology. The stated submission routes included oral presentation in a research presentation session, rapid-fire presentation, poster walkround and poster display only, with a 600-word structured abstract format. Workshop and learning and development proposals were also invited, with suggested topics including evaluation methods, AI, quantitative methods, theory, routine data, research careers, PPI, implementation, social care and networking. The final hard deadline for both research presentation and workshop submissions was Monday 19 January 2026. The registration page was closed when inspected after the meeting, so delegate fees could not be confirmed from the live registration flow. The venue page gives practical access information for the Nancy Rothwell Building in Manchester, including nearby Manchester Oxford Road station, local bus and tram links, and paid parking at the Aquatics Centre car park.
